Green New Deal regulations when Americans’ gas prices have already shot up. Crushing tax hikes for family businesses and farms as they fight to recover from the recession.
Additionally, this bill is an inflation bomb. I don’t usually brag about the expensive places I go, but I just came back from the gas station.
Bipartisanship cannot be an excuse for bad policy. This is not a bill focused on fixing roads and bridges, this is a down payment on a Washington takeover of America’s economy – expanding federal programs and mandates while spending hard-earned tax dollars with little regard for results.
The offsets in the bill will not fully cover what it will spend, certainly not what was claimed in the framework. They fall far short of the promises made. Americans need to know whether and how the federal government plans to actually pay for the full cost of the bill.
