Ranking Member Blaine Luetkemeyer (R-MO) issued the following statement on the letter sent to the Environmental Protection Agency and Department of the Army Civil Works:

“The EPA and Army Corps of Engineers have completely disregarded the Regulatory Flexibility Act by improperly certifying the proposed waters of the United States (WOTUS) rule will not have a significant economic impact on small businesses,” said Ranking Member Luetkemeyer.

“The Small Business Administration’s Office of Advocacy released detailed evidence that this rule will hurt small businesses. The EPA and Army Corps must suspend the rule until proper and accurate analysis can be done to protect the smallest of businesses. I urge the Agencies to follow the law and convene a Small Business Advocacy Review panel in accordance with the Regulatory Flexibility Act.

“The Biden Administration should listen to small businesses and impose smarter and more efficient policies to better assist our core job creators, not inhibit them.”
