Following criticism from conservative Republican candidate for governor Don Huffines, Greg Abbott’s Department of Family & Protective Services informed staff this morning that the Critical Race Theory indoctrination program known as “Knowing Who You Are” is “no longer being offered at the agency” and is “no longer a requirement for promotion on the CPS career path.”

Don Huffines issued the following statement:

“When my campaign uncovered that Critical Race Theory was being taught within the Texas Department of Family & Protective Services, I told Texas I would ensure this Marxist poison was removed. Earlier today, my campaign was informed the two courses of Critical Race Theory we uncovered are no longer being offered by the agency. This is a positive development, but we must demand accountability from Greg Abbott and his appointees for the CRT class being required in the first place.”

Huffines further added:

“My campaign is about leadership, no excuses which is not what we have in the governor’s office right now. Greg Abbott is a failed leader who has broken his promises to secure the Texas Border, safeguard our elections, and protect our tax dollars from funding Critical Race Theory and transgender ideology. I look forward to continuing to rally Texans around my campaign to put an actual Republican in the governor’s office.”

Don Huffines is a proud fifth-generation Texan, husband, father, grandfather, and self-made entrepreneur. A committed conservative, Huffines is fighting to safeguard Texans’ elections, phase out property taxes, and secure the border once and for all. Huffines is challenging Gov. Greg Abbott from the right in the Texas Republican primary. Texans deserve leadership. No excuses.
