In a hearing entitled, “Oversight of the Treasury Department’s and Federal Reserve’s Pandemic Response” in the House Financial Services Committee, Congressman Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-03) questioned Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen regarding her failure to fulfill her legal obligations.
“Secretary Yellen, I’m also the Ranking Member of the Small Business Committee. Last December Congress passed a bipartisan bill that required you to testify in front of the Small Business Committee on the Paycheck Protection Program. That deadline has now passed 157 days ago, and you’re still not there. You have willfully refused to come before the committee and willfully refused to obey the law. So, my question is very simple: why can you, a cabinet member of the Biden Administration, pick and choose which laws you follow?”
