The Larry Elder for California governor campaign released the following message:
The campaign trail continues to heat up as we enter the final weeks of this race. Larry Elder, nationally syndicated radio host and newspaper columnist, bestselling author, award-winning documentary filmmaker, and candidate for governor of California has been the subject of numerous headlines lately as he is poised to defeat Governor Newsom in the upcoming California recall election on September 14th. We thought you might be interested in these stories from the past week.
- Ward Connerly points out that the racist attacks on Larry Elder from the Los Angeles Times prove the mainstream media is afraid of him becoming California’s governor. Connerly wrote, “Larry Elder is not running to be California’s Black governor. He is running for governor, and he happens to be Black. The Larry Elder whom I have known for more than 26 years will govern on behalf of all Californians. It is hard to believe that such slanderous and deeply racist screeds were actually published — in the 21st century, by one of this country’s major newspapers.”
- Scholar and commentator Heather Mac Donald condemned the media’s attacks on Larry Elder, noting that the crime statistics he often cites are corroborated by extensive research, including data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Mac Donald wrote, “If Elder were running as a Democrat, the press would be celebrating the possibility of California’s first black governor. But the media’s effort to portray his run merely as a resurgence of alleged Trumpian racism depends on a shameful duplicity regarding crime and policing. As long as that duplicity remains in force, in the California governor’s office and elsewhere, the country will continue sliding toward anarchy.”
- Tucker Carlson slams the mainstream media during this segment for their racist attacks on Larry Elder’s candidacy. Carlson specifically denounces a column by Erika D. Smith in the the Los Angeles Times calling Elder the “Black Face of White Supremacy.” The Fox News host says Elder could very well be California’s last chance to save themselves from a history of disastrous liberal policies spearheaded by Governor Newsom.
- Veteran journalist Roger L. Simon reviewed the Los Angeles Times blatantly biased and hateful coverage of Larry Elder, writing, “The paper had devolved from a semi-national standard form liberal publication into something approximating an online anti-Larry Elder blog, so bent are they on the electoral failure of the talk radio show host in the coming recall election.”
