Larry Elder, nationally syndicated radio host and newspaper columnist, bestselling author, award-winning documentary filmmaker, and candidate for governor of California received the endorsement of former California State Senate Majority leader Gloria Romero. The Elder for Governor campaign released a TV ad featuring Romero’s endorsement.

“I’m Gloria Romero. I was the majority leader of Democrats in the state senate. I believe in charter schools and school choice, so does Larry Elder. Not Gavin Newsom. He shut our public schools while he sent his own kids to private school,” said Romero.

Romero’s endorsement of Elder was followed by another official endorsement by the California Hispanic National Republican Committee.

Ina press release, the committee said, “Mr. Elder’s plans for California will help the Latino community thrive. First through education which will allow parents to have access to school choice so their child can receive a good education. Second,  combating crime by funding our police with the necessary resources to keep Latino communities safe. Third, removing the draconian Covid-19 policies that led to the shutdown of Latino businesses and end the economic hardship in the community. Finally, allowing Latinos to return to their places of worship.”

“I am incredibly thankful to have the support of both former State Senate Majority Leader Gloria Romero and the Hispanic National Republican Committee. The mismanagement and tyrannical reign of Governor Newsom has destroyed our way of life for so many Californians. The recall effort is a nonpartisan movement because the current state of California is not the fault of it’s people. Therefore we must do everything in our power to recall Newsom on September 14th and save this beautiful state that we love. I can assure you that I’m the man for the job.”
