Rep. Chip Roy (TX-21) issued the following statement in opposition to HR 1374, Enhancing State Energy Security Planning and Emergency Preparedness Act:

The last thing the American people need right now is more of their money funneled into misguided Green New Deal-style programs for products that couldn’t cut it on their own merits in the market — much like the Solyndra fiasco that wasted millions in taxpayer money. Back in 2019, the Congressional Budget Office estimated this bill would cost $448 million over 10 years, fueling to the federal government’s out of control spending habits. Furthermore, this is none of the federal government’s business in the first place; states should be solely responsible for developing and implementing energy security plans if they so choose.
