I recorded this video as North Korean officials flew me in a Soviet-era Mil Mi-17 military helicopter to observe Pyongyang. The interior had been redecorated for “luxury” passenger use by North Korean government officials.

In this video they take directly directly over their new science complex, where DPRK scientists are developing their new nuclear weapons program. They wanted to show it off. It was constructed by the North Korea Army on the Ssuk islet of the Taedong River.

Aboard a North Korean government helicopter. It is a renovated Soviet Mil Mi-17. The pilot was very friendly and talkative, but wouldn’t respond when asked if this was used by Kim Jong Un.
